Session Description
IAIA’s 2015 SIA Guidance document is now over 10 years old, and needs an update. This workshop will canvas input from SIA practitioners and stakeholders about what changes should be made so it will continue to be effective for the next 10 years. This workshop will use a WWW-WCBB format with table discussions of what went well with the 2015 document and what could be better in the future. Table groups will discuss the changes needed and will report-back to the whole group.
Worth noting is that the 2015 document has been highly influential. It has been translated into several languages, including: Arabic, Portuguese (courtesy of the Portuguese Association for Impact Assessment, APAI), Spanish (courtesy of the Inter-American Development Bank), Traditional Chinese (courtesy of the Government of Taiwan), Turkish (courtesy of the Social Sciences University of Ankara), and Farsi (courtesy of the Municipality of Tehran). The English version has been cited over 800 times, and the Spanish version has been cited over 100 times.
