Session Description
Nature-based solutions can play a pivotal role in environmental impact assessment and management. Because these solutions are supported by or based on natural and ecological processes, they tend to be cost-effective while also providing environmental and social benefits. However, understanding when and how nature-based solutions effectively address environmental impacts is critical for guiding their implementation and assessing their potential for replication and upscaling. In this context, case studies provide valuable insights into the opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned from their practical application. This session presents different case studies related to the design, implementation, monitoring, and/or performance evaluation of nature-based solutions.

Nature-based solutions can play a pivotal role in environmental impact assessment and management. This session aims to learn from different case studies related to the design, implementation, monitoring, and/or performance evaluation of nature-based solutions.
Additional Information
If the session is accepted, the chair and co-chair would include a research about a pilot case in Chile about how native forest can help reduce nutrients load to a polluted lake.
