Abstract

Across the mining industry companies are applying the new tailings Standard GISTM, for which the first Requirement is to carry out Human Rights Due Diligence. This presentation will focus on how HRIA/DD is built into this technical standard, what are the actual challenges with how this Requirement is being fulfilled, and how to strengthen the 'do no harm' imperative.
